Christine Nowmos

Christine (Heck) Nowmos is a 1992 cum laude graduate of Grove City College with a Bachelor of Music degree in music education. She is currently enrolled in West Chester University's masters' in music education program. Christine holds a New Jersey state teaching certificate for K-12 vocal and instrumental music and is certified in Level 1 of the Kodaly Method of music education. She is a member of Music Educators National Conference, the New Jersey Music Educators Association, the Organization of American Kodaly Educators, and the New Jersey Education Association. Christine is the recipient of a New Jersey Governor's Teaching Scholarship and was selected as a participant in the Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Band, the New Jersey All-State Band, and the New Jersey Governor's School of the Arts.

Christine is the general/vocal music teacher for grades K-4 in the Woodstown-Pilesgrove, NJ, Regional School District (visit her school web page). She has also taught elementary general/vocal music in Hamilton Twp. (Atlantic Co., NJ) Public Schools and instrumental music in several South Jersey parochial and private schools.

Christine is an experienced performer on several instruments, including piano, euphonium, trombone, flute, trumpet, and voice. She is a professional piano accompanist and is available as a classical or jazz/contemporary pianist or vocalist for weddings and other functions in the NJ/DE/Phila. region. She can be heard on the piano Friday and Saturday evenings during the summer at the Mirage Restaurant in Avalon, NJ.

Christine has been composing instrumental music for approximately ten years. Several of her songs have been compiled in her soon-to-be-released CD, Morning Reverie. The music on this CD is mellow and relaxing, written in a "New Age" style. She has also recently begun to write rock/contemporary vocal songs, which will be included on her CD, Looking Inside.
